Captain Montague's award winning bed and breakfast on the shores of Lake Erie.  Experience the thrill of exploration, the elegance of beautiful accommodations, the serenity of open water.

Old World Luxury

Captain Montague's...old world charm meets modern day luxury.  Built in an era of romanticized Great Lakes history, this was once home to Captain C.Z. Montague and his family.  Boasting seven fireplaces, original burled wood pocket doors throughout the common areas, and a stunning hand-crafted black walnut staircase, the Victorian flavor of this home was enhanced by the craftsmanship of local shipbuilders. Extensive, careful interior updating has resulted in a comfortable and modern home that you will beckon you to relaxation.

A Beautiful Setting

Captain Montague's is located just two short blocks from Lake Erie in the Old Plat portion of the original village that remains. Visit the charming tree-lined Lakefront Park that is at the end of our street, just a short two blocks from our front door. Just one block from the park is Huron's "mile-long" fishing pier with the Huron Lighthouse, a beacon for all boaters, at the very tip of the pier.  Just one block east of the Captain's is Huron's Municipal Boat Basin and Amphitheater. There is free live entertainment every weekend throughout the summer months. And Ohio's oldest continuous summer stock theater, The Huron Playhouse, is in production for five weeks beginning in July, and it is just around the corner from us.
