Captain Montague's Bed and Breakfast spans an enitre block in the historic, lakefront community of Old Plat in Huron, Ohio.
The double front doors feature beautiful, warm ruby glass which casts a cozy glow over the entire foyer, including the hand-crafted solid black walnut staircase, the exquisite wood floor of red oak and mahogany, and the original plaster crown molding.
Situated under the Waterford chandelier, the large table in the dining room seats ten, and the cozy round table in the alcove seats four. This sunny spot is a favorite of so many of our guests whether eating, playing cards, or just day-dreaming.
Our Butler's Pantry is stocked for your comfort and convenience. Help yourselves to teas, bottled water, ice, snacks, sweet treats, and coffee at any time--day or night. Our desire is that you are comfortable here; make it your home away from home.
Once the Captain's billiards room, this comfortable room now invites curling into the sumptuous leather furniture with a good book or relaxing with some good conversation and a toasty warm fire.
The music room, located just off the foyer has a carved walnut pump organ. If you "tickle the ivories", we would love for you to make yourself at home and play. This room was originally Sarah's music room as she was a graduate of the Oberlin School of Music in the 1880's (now Oberlin College)--quite an accomplishment for a young lady at that time.
During the summer, breakfast is available in the charming gazebo adjacent to the in-ground swimming pool.
