For all you Civil War buffs, the Hayes Presidential Center in Fremont is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War. On the exact date that the first Confederate shots were fired on Fort Sumter, the Center opened “Civil War: Battlefield & Homefront.” This exhibit interprets the war years using the letters of residents who served in the war and those who stayed behind. This absorbing exhibit is open to the public daily Tues-Sat 9am-5pm and Sun 12 noon-5pm through Jan. 9, 2012. That gives ample time for you to visit the Captain’s and take in a part of our history.
